Ok so maybe this isnt the most exciting task in the world but I got a juicer for Christmas from my mother and I decided to try it out for the first time. I also tried a new recipe to couple with the juice which was both healthy and delicious, Shrimp Tabbouleh Salad (if anyone wants the recipe just ask!).
The main reason I'm posting about my first juicing experience is because I have some alterior motives ;) I'm trying to prepare myself for my first short-term fasting (hopefully at some point this year). I've never tried anything like it and I wanted see if it would be something I could handle. I gotta say that a mix of carrots, celery, apples and parsley make a really scrumptious juice so I'm looking forward to more trials with juicemaking and further prep for a fast. Recently, I've been reading about the perks of short-term fasts as well as a purification plan in general. I'm trying to be a good girl this year (well, a better, healthier girl ;)) and I thought I'd start with my diet which I know definitely needs to be renovated at times. I do love fried food...or most food in general heehee.
So that's the first task, completed successfully and I'm pretty proud of myself. If you know of any other delicious juicing recipes you've tried or any books you've read about fasting that you would suggest please comment!
